The Program makes use of regulatory measures, such as Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) Regulations in which prohibitions and allowed activities are detailed, to conserve and sustainably manage marine ecosystems. Activity plans must be submitted to the relevant DFO Regional authority for specific activities, to ensure human activities within the MPA are compliant and consistent with the regulation and objectives of the MPA.
