SSI contribution agreements provide eligible First Nations scientific, technical, and administrative capacity building support to conduct marine stewardship activities within their Territories. The SSI aims to increase our understanding of cumulative effects of human activities on Valued Marine Ecosystem Components of concern within eligible First Nations' Territories. SSI reports publically on contribution agreements on a quarterly basis through the government’s Proactive Disclosure process. Further, communication out with Nations on funding availability, etc. takes place both through direct bilateral engagement and through information sharing at collaboratively developed monthly Workshop Webinars that are open to representatives of all 33 eligible Nations.
