Environmental Funding – Lake Winnipeg Basin Program

View service inventory entry Visit service website Suggest a correction

Large and frequent algal blooms in Lake Winnipeg are the result of high nutrient levels from international and domestic transboundary sources such as agriculture, industry, municipal wastewater and surface run-off. In order to improve the ecological health of the lake and its basin, we fund projects that: •reduce nutrient loading •enhance collaboration •support enhanced engagement of Indigenous Peoples (Water Quality and Ecosystems Partnerships, Environment and Climate Change Canada.)
