Enquiries are received via the departmental web site are automatically dispatched to Sector contacts via a web application. A General Inquiries Officer answers the department’s general enquiries telephone line between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday; re-directs callers to the appropriate departmental contacts or to other government entities; provides advice to departmental employees responsible for responding to public enquiries; re-directs e-mail enquiries to subject-matter expert (when required) via the web application.
