Public Health Agency of Canada scientific and technical staff use the Agency’s laboratory facilities and scientific and technical expertise to carry out testing to identify and characterize infectious agents. These services are also provided to public health partners from Federal, Provincial and Territorial governments, as well as partners from international and healthcare settings. Additionally, specialized testing and development of innovative tools may be offered as a national service or transferred to provincial/territorial governments and municipalities to improve public health laboratory response capacity across Canada.
