As a signatory to the World Health Organization International Health Regulations (2005), the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) conducts inspections of international maritime vessels and issues Ship Sanitation Control Certificates, and Ship Sanitation Control Exemption Certificates, and 30 day extensions to existing ship sanitation control certificates.
