Public Safety Canada’s (PS) Ministerial Correspondence Unit (MCU) provides communications and advisory services to the Office of the Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness. Its primary objective is to receive and process ministerial and executive correspondence addressed to the Minister, whether received electronically or via postal mail. Ministerial correspondence consists of correspondence between the Minister’s Office and the general public, Federal, Provincial/Territorial, Municipal, International, and Non-Governmental stakeholders (i.e. media enterprises, private sector, non-profit organizations). In addition, MCU manages the development and implementation of internal systems, procedures and processes to control the receipt, distribution, processing, tracking, reporting and performance measuring of ministerial correspondence received and processed by the Unit.
