Through the National Crime Prevention Strategy (NCPS), Public Safety Canada (PS) provides national leadership on crime prevention research. PS works with partners and stakeholders to identify gaps in crime prevention research and implement research projects to fill these gaps. PS also supports the evaluation of crime prevention programs through the NCPS grants and contribution programs. Results from research and evaluation of these funded projects are disseminated to partners and the Canadian public with a view to build knowledge and implement evidence-based approaches to crime prevention in the Canadian context.
