ATRIS is a Web-based information system intended to map out the location of Indigenous communities and display information pertaining to their potential or established Aboriginal or treaty rights. It is used for assessing consultation responsibilities in order to fulfill the legal Duty to Consult. It is free and available to the public. The information is structured with different layers to adapt to the users’ needs, whether they are CIRNAC employees, federal public servants, or members of the public.
