This purpose of this program is to ensure that the operational capability of the airstrips are maintained at the level necessary to meet Transport Canada's airport certification requirements and is intended to fulfill the Government of Canada’s commitments under the 1982 Labrador Air/Marine Services Agreement with the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador to support the restoration of airstrips along the Labrador coast.
